it was all just a dream
Something missing from this list?
The movie has three different plotlines at the same time that basically have the same story but set in different worlds. The first one is about the girls being in an asylum with the protagonist Babydoll being about to get lobotomized, the second one being about the girls forcefully having to work in a brothel with the protagonist being about to get sold to her first costumer, and the third one being about the girls living in a fantasy/science fiction world where they are agents similar to Charlie's Angels, and they are sent on a mission to get a number of items before the last item and its purpose being revealed. Since the movie has a complex and sometimes puzzling structure, there are many interpretations of its meaning. Some view the third plotline to be a dream or the protagonists' imagination, with the second one being a metaphor and the first one being the physical reality. But it can also be interpreted that all three plotlines are real but happen in different universes.
The Starving Games
The entire Avatar parody scene is a hallucination the protagonist experiences after being stung by poisonous bees.
The Wizard of Oz
This propably has the most infamous use of it "being all just a dream". In the end, Dorothy wakes up at home again, and many people there resemble the characters she met in her dresm world.. It appears to have been just a dream what happened, even though the prequel "Oz the Great and Powerful" which was released more than 70 years later gives a new meaning to this. You may or may not view this prequel as canon.
